The studio has a large number of pre built sets, principally set up for the kids for cake smashes / splashes and baby area. We also have the tailored boudoir area – used for normal boudoir and the separate sets for the white bridal boudoir.
At various times of the year we also have our specialist sets up. In the lead up to Christmas every year our Sleigh and Christmas set up makes an appearance. Typically this is up from the end of September to catch all those family clients looking for family shoots in the leads up to Christmas and wanting images they can use for Christmas cards or presents.
Once that comes down……..and I was very early this year taking it down on Christmas Eve ……I know…..Humbug….. that leaves us with a gap
When we purchased the studio some 4 years ago now ( has it really been that long…….how our business has changed in that time ), we inherited and old 1940’s army motor bike. It had been bought in to the studio for a specialist shoot for products I believe……and just never got taken away. Never one to throw away a good prop, it sits gathering dust and every now and then it gets some use.
Last year, we had the Tamworth Photography group in for an evening and they were happy to spend hour creating a set for the bike which they then used for some shoots. Never one to pass up on a good idea, this set has been re-created and is back out and available to use.
We anticipate it will be up for a few months, just depends on what else is coming in.
Backlit and with the use of a couple of smoke machines you can create some really great effects.
I had a guy in this week for 121 training on boudoir photography…….not typically the sort of thing you do on a 1940’s motorbike, but the model was really keen to grab a few shots on their to finish off the set on the night. Never one to miss a trick, grabbed a few images for our own uses…..always good promo material.
